Arterberry tops list

My service as 20-year Councilmember for the city of Monte Sereno, Calif., city mayor for five terms, and trustee for the West Valley - Mission Community College District for 16 years may qualify me to address the criteria that I have looked for in hiring a chief executive officer for a city or for a community college district. During my tenure as a Monte Sereno City Councilmember, I worked with five different city managers. As a current community college trustee, I have worked with three different chancellors.

In my past experiences with eight different CEOs, I would rank Stan Arterberry at the top of the list. Arterberry’s deep experience and understanding of the community college system was recognized and appreciated by our Board of Trustees. In addition to these qualifications, I always admired his skills and abilities in working with people from all facets of my district and from our community.

I unequivocally endorse Stan Arterberry for an elected official position on the Maricopa Community College District Governing Board.

Jack Lucas, Ed.D.
Trustee, West Valley - Mission Community College District
